My son has a 51 plate ford focus zetec, and the idle speed tick over is running at between 1500 and 1800 rpm for at least 10 seconds when coming to a standstill, at which point it then drops to around 1000rpm. Does anyone experience this problem, or tell me whether its just a focus thing???

That seems like a long time, but the Focus does idle high for a bit when stopping. Probably not a major problem. Could be a vacuum line or something of the like.
